The European Community Reference Laboratory for residues of beta-agonists, anticoccidials including nitroimidazoles, anthelmintics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) at the BVL (Bundesamt fA1/4r Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit) is part of Group 5 "Analyses." The CRL is represented by unit 502 which is also the NRL for the substance groups the CRL is responsible for. The analytical activities of the CRL Berlin are pursued by two specialised sub-units, one being responsible for GC and GC-MS, one for HPLC and LC-MS. They are supplemented by a third sub-unit in charge of the preparation of incurred test materials to be used as in-house reference samples and for proficiency testing.

The activities listed in this report correspond to the duties and operating conditions of CRLs as laid down in Annex V, Chapter 2 of Council Directive 96/23/EC of 29 April 1996.
