China has long emphasized the enlightment education of children since ancient time. The ancient wise men combined functional literacy with moral education. Among the numerous Chinese traditional enlightment educational materials stand out such books as Three-Character Classic, Thousand-Character Primer, and the Book of One Hundred Family Names. The later generations then gave them a joint name, San-Bai-Qian (Three-Hundred-Thousand). The three books are combined into one volume hereby in the book, which, apart from aiming to proofread and annotate them, gives a larger part expounding their value for the education of the 21st century from the perspective of children's mental and intelligence education.
