The Calliope

While staying in an old mansion on a small island off the coast of Washington, a brother and sister find themselves caught up in a hundred-year-old mystery. At 14, Jefferson has the innocence and faith of a small child. He is a happy and loving boy with Down Syndrome, and with his simple and openhearted view of the world, he notices and appreciates things that others miss. His sister, 12-year-old Josephine, is exceptionally intelligent-with her analytical mind, she can solve just about any problem. Together, they embark on a journey to discover the fate of a young woman who disappeared from the island in 1908. But in retracing her steps, they find themselves a bit too far from where they started, and in a place where nothing is quite as it was before they began their search. Will Jefferson's faith and Josephine's intelligence be enough to get them back home?
