Landscapes of Forgotten Forts

Kathy Fridstein photographs three forgotten forts on Washington state's Olympic Peninsula. Once known as the Triangle of Fire, these cannon-bearing forts have been overtaken by nature. Fridstein's photos evoke the ghosts of history and the relentless march of time.

Fridstein's photographs inspired award-winning poet Kelli Russell Agodon to write 12 poems that are included in this collection. 

Historian David Hansen contributes an essay to provide context for the forts, and quotes from soldiers stationed there are placed throughout the book.
