Ev Bannen is in his second year at Divine Protector Academy, the world's only school for gods. Things are even going well in his relationship with the lovely Maya Br nhart. But suddenly, a village in the Tru Republic is attacked by refghasts. Ev and friends arrive just in time to fight them off, but then Ev is approached by a mysterious man. The man reveals a dark secret about Ev's past-a secret the Academy has been keeping from him. With everything he knows suddenly called into question, Ev must decide where his loyalties lie as he embarks on a journey to activate the ultimate Artifact from the Tower of Babel. But running afoul of Zero Grade might be the least of his problems when the Academy's elite decide to expel him...permanently.
