City of Innocent Monsters

Following her recent triumph in a case steeped in corruption, false identities, and the tragic deaths of her husband and daughter, Sidney Stone's burgeoning private investigation firm has gained significant momentum. The prestigious Oakmire Golf and Country Club has hired Sid to investigate alligator poaching on their marsh-bordered golf course.

Assisted by Leo Roberts, a teenager gifted with the ability to converse with the dead, Sid embarks on a straightforward case involving a few late-night stakeouts at the upscale country club. However, when dead bodies start washing up on the greens, it becomes obvious that threats more ominous than giant alligators are at play on the golf course.

The case quickly turns into a quagmire-trapping Sid and Leo in a murky mystery involving a golf superstar, powerful lawyers, a loan shark, a social media darling, and a couple of ghostly golfers. When a menacing shadow figure begins haunting Leo, the investigators realizes that they face danger from a variety of monsters-reptilian ones, dead ones, and living ones who walk among us proclaiming their innocence.
