Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. From Mr. G. B. Hanna, of the U. S. Assay Office, Charlotte, I have also obtained quite an extended list of mineral localities of the neigh boring gold region. And to Prof. A. A.
