Invention of printing machine by Gutenberg in 1452 is one of the revolutions of human knowledge development. Since then all human knowledge and information are easily available through print media in the form of books, journals and other from of documents. But now days information generation is growing so fast in various new disciplines that print media cant able to run so fast in respect of time and cost, place is also the vital problem to the library. At the same time information technology, computer and telecommunication developed tremendously which directly affects the publishing industry and now society are going to the paper less society. There is no standard definition of electronic journal. E-joumal sometimes described as virtual journal or paperless journal or online journal etc. Consider first the definition of journal, according to ALA Glossary a journal is a periodical especially one containing scholarly article and/or disseminating current information on research and development in a particular subject field. If this task is done by electronic media then it may call e-joumal. If the content of a journal are produced and stored only in electronic form than it is called e- joumal. When the content of a journal produced and stored and scanned in a database and then retrieved though on line then same thing is called online journal. This book contains the fundamental and basic information of subject and the selection of contents makes it an appropriate textbook for the students.
