Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The language chosen has been always the simplest possible, in order to retain, as far as practicable, the primitive flavour of the original; but it should be remembered that Ruysbroeck himself often uses long words, though always in their simplest signification. I have thought it useful to summarise briefly the contents of the work, and this Summary will be found immediately after the Introduction.
