Why National Security Matters

My book is a memoir about national security. I discuss about my personal experiences involving democracy in El Salvador, counterterrorism in the Middle East against the Islamic State, the rise of Chinese power in Shanghai, the 2008 Economic Recession, and my involvement at the United Nations. Each section provides a set of policy recommendations.
