Overcoming Challenge: The Tar-Billy Way

Growing up surrounded by a family of truck drivers, Ernest D. Hamilton, from Boones Mill, VA, learned what it meant to treat people fairly and to never give up on your dreams. Not surprisingly, Hamilton became a truck driver himself. Compelled to make a positive difference in the workplace and in the lives of his colleagues in the trucking industry, Hamilton stepped out of his comfort zone, and into management, where he faced enormous challenges. Along the way Hamilton gained trusted friends with whom he has remained close. Combined, his North Carolina friends and his West Virginia family call themselves the Tar-Billy Cruisers. In Overcoming Challenge: The Tar-Billy Way, Hamilton shares memories of growing up, getting his first truck driving job, going back to school, and moving into management within the trucking industry. He urges his readers to face challenges head on and to never give up on achieving their dreams.
