Knowing how to be and knowing how to do in mathematics education

This work was developed in conjunction with the Education Observatory project. As part of this larger project, this research aimed to describe and analyze the knowledge mobilized in the stricto sensu training of graduates of the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education at the State University of Para ba (PPGECM/UEPB) in the years 2010 to 2011 in the area of Mathematics Education. Thus, this work presents the results of the analysis with a focus on the Education Development Plan, which was presented by Decree No. 6,094/2008 in 28 guidelines that lead teachers to be co-participants and co-responsible for the development of basic education, from a perspective of quality focused on the comprehensive training of students. After collection and analysis, it was possible to observe that their research, statements, and actions point to a concern with the quality of Basic Education and, consequently, student development. However, it was also possible to observe limitations in training in relation to topics such as inclusive education, democratic management, etc.
