Actor-Network-Theory (ANT) is one of the most discussed approaches in the humanities today. Considered an epistemological provocation by many mainly because it treats non-human entities as actors, its analytical potential, however, goes far beyond this claim. Assembling historical case studies from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, the volume discusses the potentials and limits of the concept for historical studies.
