Zygomatic implants

This book collectively describe the use of long implants anchored in the zygomatic bone as a predictable solution for rehabilitation of the severely atrophic maxilla where conventional implants and bone grafting are limited. They emphasize detailed anatomical knowledge, radiographic evaluation, and prosthetically driven planning to achieve primary stability and avoid vital structures. Core concepts include traditional intrasinus, extramaxillary, and anatomy-guided (ZAGA) approaches, along with indications such as posterior maxillary resorption, failed grafts, and maxillectomy defects. Here we have also discussed surgical techniques, biomechanics, soft-tissue management, immediate loading protocols, prosthetic considerations, and prevention and management of complications, highlighting zygomatic implants as a graft-less, time-efficient, and clinically reliable treatment option with high long-term success rates.
