When Emily Brontë passed away at the young age of 30, she had already written what is now considered the world's most classic love novel.
Wuthering Heights tells the story of how the foundling Heathcliff forms intensely strong bonds with the daughter of his benefactor, Catherine Earnshaw. They are kindred spirits, but socially they belong to different worlds. The wave of frustrated longing and destructive passion that ensues when Catherine refuses to marry Heathcliff is unique in world literature.

EMILY BRONTË [1818-1848] was an English author, born in Thornton, West Yorkshire. She had five siblings, two of whom were authors Charlotte and Anne. In addition to poetry, Emily Brontë wrote only one novel, Wuthering Heights [1847].
