In Book 2, of Women Shan, with the help of Dr Vosberg, an American psychiatrist and the Zen master Tomato-chan, examines her past and tries to come to terms with it while living in Tokyo.

In Book 3 of Women Shan travels to the edge and settles in Alice Springs, Central Australia.
