The anthology is aimed to contribute to a debate on the relationship between the research area in teaching and learning foreign languages and other related scientific disciplines, with particular emphasis being on the implementation of the findings into foreign language teaching. The contributions shed light on the status of particular disciplines within the research field and also bring about the discussion on interdisciplinary dependencies in the interaction between them. This contributes to the meta-subject-specific conceptual reflection on the scientific foundation of the research in teaching and learning foreign languages and hence to the content-related profile of the subject.
