White Nights and a Weak Heart (Two Stories)

In "White Nights", Dostoyevsky depicts, through his realistic style combined with a poetic vision of life, how days pass in the city of Petersburg, especially in some of its strange neighborhoods, where the sun that shines on all parts of the city hardly knows its way to those secluded places, as he put it, Rather, a special kind of sun shines on it, prepared for it! No wonder life there is so different from life anywhere else in this mighty city. It is a life that resembles a myth, or a dream in which reality is mixed with ideals.
