This book explores the impact of hydropower dams on subtle, physio-chemical and biotic qualities of river water. It is suggested that water acts as a medium of transferring spiritual charges in the three major religions of the world-Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. It is shown that river waters carry spiritual charges and that these are damaged by hydropower projects. It is shown that even Run-of-River dams bring changes in subtle physic-chemical and biotic qualities of river water. Finally, it presents an alternative method of generating hydropower so that the qualities of water of the Ganga can be conserved. About the Author After graduating in Science, Bharat Jhunjhunwala acquired his doctoral degree in economics from the University of Florida at the age of 23..
