War-Shock, the Psycho-Neuroses in War

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. This book does not pretend to deal exhaustively with the ultimate concepts of the psycho-neuroses. I have had in mind two considerations: to give so much of the psychology as to make the symptoms intelligible, and to show that soldiers suffering from war-shock respond peculiarly well to psycho-therapeutic treatment. It offends the scientifically trained mind to read, as I did to-day: A soldier, who became dumb two years ago after an explosion, suddenly recovered his speech at a cinematograph show.
