Wang Xizhi (303-361 AD), born in Linyi, Langya (Linyi, Shandong now), who styled himself as "e;Yishao"e;, is an official and calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the son of Wang Kuang, Danyang Director, and the son-in-law of Xi Jian, a supreme government official in charge of military affairs at that time. He is known as the "e;Sage of Calligraphy"e;. He became an official through the influence of his family, serving as Mishulang, Governor of Jiangzhou, and Prefecture Chief of Kuaiji. He was later promoted to Youjun General and was known as the "e;Wang Youjun"e;. In the ninth year of Yonghe (353), he organized the Lanting Yaji. His Orchid Pavilion is the "e;best running script in the world"e;. In the eleventh year of Yonghe (355), he abandoned his official position and moved to Jinting, Shaoxing. Then he passed away in the fifth year of Shengping (361) and was buried at Jinting Waterfall Mountain. This book depicts Wang Xizhi's life experience in a novel style, showcasing his immortal personality charm.
