This book is arranged in alphabetically order, listing some 34,000 residents who were not included in the 1790 Federal Census. The authors developed this list from the personal property tax lists of thirty-five separate Virginia counties. Along with the names of taxpayers, the researcher will discover the number of the poll, the number of slaves owned, and the name of the county in which the taxpayer resided.
