Vestiges of the Spirit-History of Man

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The first three chapters of this book are a kind of general introduction to the main body of the work. The third chapter has been extended by additional matter, in order to afford a broader basis for the subsequent chapters to rest upon. The authorities are given at the bottom of the page, and notes are added: particular notes to certain pages will be found in the Appendix of Notes and some remarks (p. 387) in reference to reading Hebrew without the vowel-points. These are not to be used in reading Hebrew preper names in this work. Corrections and additions will be found in the Errata.
