The first anthology not only in Russian, but also in the world, which collected responses of poets from different countries to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, includes 281 poems by 190 authors from 32 countries. Among them are both recognised classics (John Ashbery, James Merrill, Tom Gunn, Adrienne Rich, Ernst Jandl) and young poets who had barely made a name for themselves before the disease took them away. The book speaks in different voices of resilience in the hour of trial, of the value of human life and of love.
