James Regan, an Australian plastic surgeon on a mission trip to Bombay, India meets an Indian nurse, Carmen D'Cruz and gets her pregnant. He flees back to Australia determined to forget and put the matter in his past. Believing his mother who told him his father had died in a plane crash, his illegitimate son, Rowan follows in his father's footsteps and trains to become a plastic surgeon himself.
