Type 1 diabetes is a form of diabetes in which very little or no amount of insulin is produced by the pancreas. It is also known as juvenile diabetes. The major symptoms of type 1 diabetes include frequent urination, increased hunger and thirst, weight loss, blurry vision, tiredness and poor wound healing. It is caused by genetic or environmental factors. Insulin therapy is given to the patients of type 1 diabetes. It is done by giving insulin injection just under the skin or it is delivered by an insulin pump.
