Twenty-four Eyes

This book is a novel by Japanese writer Sakae Tsuboi (1899-1967). It tells the story of a female primary school teacher named Oshijiko in a small fishing village on the promontory, who devoted herself to teaching a class of innocent children. As a result of the war, twelve children suffered misfortune. Oshijiko doubted education and wanted to resign from teaching, but eventually returned to the children.Through the experience of teachers and students in the war, this book accuses the war of aggression, which brought misfortune to human being and promotes peace. This work is regarded as a classic children literature and anti-war work. This book guides readers to remember and think more about war.The film with the same name was released in 1954, which left a deep impression on Chinese fans. It is a classic teacher-student love film comparable to Dead Poets Society.
