Treatise on the Preparation and Delivery of Sermons

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Special pains have been taken, at the proper points of the treatise, to give practical suggestions for ex temporaneous speaking. Most works confine their instruction as regards the preparation of sermons to the case of writing out in full; and many treat of delivery, as if it were in all cases to be reading or recitation. The effort has here been to keep the different methods in view, and to mention, in con nection with matters applicable to all alike, such as apply to one or another method in particular.
