Track of the Wolf

It is the madness of men that draws both Marshal Boone Crowe and Deputy Rud Lacrosse onto the separate trails of two killers. A vicious bounty hunter has seized an innocent man, and it is Crowe who is in a desperate chase across Wyoming to set the captive free before harm comes to him. But a wintery blizzard buries his hopes under a barren landscape of snow, images of war, and the haunting faces of despairing women. Lacrosse, tracking a wounded murderer, finds himself in a deeper battle within himself, a struggle against sudden violence, and the truth of who he really is, all the while bridled with a confused passion for a beautiful but mysterious girl. Track of the Wolf pits Crowe against Gaylord Wolfson, a man wrestling with demons of his own and using the Wyoming Territory as his punishing ground. In the midst of a devastating winter storm, the marshal is drawn closer to the world of Indian lore and to the strength of its power and helped in his survival by the miracle of a ghost horse.
