There are some things that can be quintessentially described as being 'English, rather than 'British', and one of those is the English pub. This is the story of one of those pubs. It is the story of The Windmill Inn, a structure that has evolved from being a farm that sold beer to the popular up market haven in Yorkshire where the clientele come from far and wide. Using information going back before WW2 and gathering personal memories going back as far as that, this story shows how the village pub has been in the past, and remains so in the present, the hub of village society.
