This is a rare and unique book that briefly deals with the history of Iraq. The author began writing it in 1918, and he decided on the curriculum for Iraqi school students. Therefore, the author took care of simplification and brevity, and in it, according to his words, he referred to about sixty works between Arabic, French, English, Turkish, and Latin.He sought to mention the notables as they are known to the Arabs, and he restored many of the original Semitic notables to the correct form from which they were quoted, and he did not keep up with the modern Arabizers who transferred those Eastern words from the Franks, so they were distorted to the point of distortion, to the point that one could not be guided to them or to their origin. This is a defect among the people of modern journalism and writings, which is regrettable that it came from their pens.
