The Sacred Books of China, Part 5

The Sacred Books of the East, a 50-volume series, encompasses the seven non-Christian religions of Asia: Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Zoroastrianism, Jainism, and Islam. Translated into English by authorities in their respective fields, these sacred texts have been edited by F. Max Muller and have profoundly influenced civilization. The Sacred Books of China Part 5 (1891) translated by James Legge, is Volume XXXIX of The Sacred Books of the East, a series available from Cosimo Classics. This book, in six parts, focuses on Confucianism and Taoism. Part 5 contains "The Texts of Taoism," a faith with its roots in the School of Yin-Yang: "The T o Teh King" by L o Dze, and "The Writings of Kwang-tze" (I-XVII). This text is a great addition to the personal library of those intrigued by Taoism.
