The Political Economy of Hunger

This study examines various perspectives of the problem of hunger in the world. Beginning with a descriptive overview, it examines different explanations and remedies, concluding that poverty, and thus hunger, should be seen as the direct resurlt of the prevailing system for the creation of wealth. Thus, while our economic system produces many advantages for some people, it also produces many disadvantages for others. This book is centered on the social forces that generate chronic undernutrition and malnutrition.
