The Poetry of My Slowdance Through Life so Far...

The poetry in this book was written over a period of four years, from a place of life and experience. The poems are about the author and some of the happenings in her life - so far. They are about people and the stories they have shared, and they are about life's encounters - the sweet, and the not so sweet. Some of the poets that have influenced the journey in this book are - Mary Oliver, Maya Angelou, David Whyte, Rumi and Hafiz. The title "The Poetry of the Slowdance Through My Life So Far" is somewhat of a paradox. Life can tend to be fast and furious at times, presenting all manner of disruption, where as the mystery and romance of a slowdance is far more alluring - The invitation of this little poetry book is to engage in the slowdance for a while.
