The place of art in architecture

This book is an anthology of writings published in different academic journals and memoirs. They represent twenty years of a recherche patiente on a fascinating subject, a line of research on the relationship between art and architecture over time. The articles are presented as chapters organized in two parts. In the first, the five chapters are of a theoretical and critical nature, referring to the reflection on the relationship between art and architecture. In the second part, the four chapters are of a documentary type, related to the author's works. The first of all corresponds to the formulation of the theory "Art]Architecture", arising from the author's doctoral thesis. The title "The place of art in architecture" is then a statement that aims to summarize the current state of understanding of the relationship between art and architecture. In it, the term "place" is understood according to four meanings: topological, ontological, ethical and aesthetic. And the term "in" adduces the "+" sign of the theory; art is added to architecture. This sum becomes integration and synthesis that are repeated countless times in history. Hence its validity and importance.
