As the newest recruit in Examiner Unit 17, you are sent outside the walls of the safe zone into the post-apocalyptic wastes that surround it. Your mission: to study and catalogue human, animal, vegetable, and mineral specimens afflicted with "the decay"-a condition thought to cause bodily disintegration and violent madness-as part of a concerted effort to prevent it from reaching those inside the safe zone. But will your journey confirm the decay as an illness, or reveal it to be an evolution?

Medium Suggestions:

Water and paper are tightly rationed in the post-apocalypse, so drier mediums such as colored pencils, pastels, gel-based inks, and alcohol markers are preferred. It is also suggested that a piece of scrap is placed beneath the page to prevent indentations or bleed-through on the illustrations below.
