Henge our hero returns to the headland to establish a home for his future bride.

A chance encounter with a runaway orphan who seeks protection from slavery threatens tragedy. Seeing the boy's plight, Henge befriends him. Now the boy is not alone to fight his battle. This leads to unexpected threats from the Potters of Littledown.

Help is on hand from unexpected sources. Two leaders of men, who admire Henge for his resilience, come to his aid. But an old enemy now knows where to find him and is plotting to silence our hero forever.
