Part of the Open Door series of short books for emerging readers. A young boy waits for his father to come home from England at the weekends. During the week he and his mother are alone in the house. His parents don't get on, and he feels angry and alone. He begins to sniff petrol from a can in the garden shed. It changes his world and makes everything bright and beautiful. But in reality, things are getting worse and worse.
