This book is not a biography of the great professor Mohamed El-Tabii, as there may be someone more worthy of this task. Rather, this book provides illuminating glimpses of his rich life and important milestones in his long and prolific journalistic career. It is an attempt to repay this journalist who, with his pen, was able to revolutionize journalistic writing in the twentieth century, to the point that journalism has become divided into pre-Mohamed El-Tabii and post-Mohamed El-Tabii. It is therefore right for us to call him "the innovator." What made me interested in Professor Mohamed El-Tabii''s career is that his journalistic life is a chronicle of Egyptian political, social, and intellectual life. The reader will perhaps notice that in some chapters of the book, we forgot about the character of "Al-Tabi''i" for a while and discussed newspapers, periodicals, and other figures who lived during the time of Muhammad Al-Tabi''i and participated in conflicts and battles. Professor Muhammad Hassanein Heikal, one of Al-Tabi''i''s most important and last students, was a major factor in encouraging the publication of this book. This was due to the moving words he wrote in 2008 as an introduction to Muhammad Al-Tabi''i''s book "Secrets of Politicians and Politics." In that introduction, Heikal apologized "for a degree of forgetfulness of Al-Tabi''i''s name and value, which has befallen the memory of new generations of readers, through no fault of their own." This book is part of a generation''s apology to His Majesty Muhammad Al-Tabi''i.
