This book compiles and systematises concepts related to morbidities in the facial region, comparing data obtained from oral and maxillofacial surgeons at a public referral hospital in Salvador (BA) with current literature. The qualitative nature of the research provides a magnified perspective on issues such as seasonality and violence prevention, the most affected social class, identification of fundamental injuries and risk groups, among other approaches related to violence that often goes unnoticed during clinical dental care. The objective is to raise awareness among health professionals about the issue of violence in the face and neck region, which, despite being very common in the public health system, is not identified and reported with the same frequency.
