In such times, going against all conventions, a young American ensign befriends a Mohican man and holds deep respect for the latter's belief. Chambers was an American artist and fiction writer, best known for his book of short stories entitled "e;The King in Yellow"e; which greatly inspired H. P. Lovecraft. He was one of the few authors who represented the Native Americans in a positive light in his works.
