In an Indian village, when Hareesh is born, his mother takes him to a soothsayer who foretells that the child will find gold that will adorn his body. His mother is excited by the prophesy, but years later when Hareesh and his sister Lakshmi find a gold button, dropped by a local rich man, trouble breaks out in the village.
