Ten-year-old Amanda Greene doesn't fit in anywhere. Her mom has recently passed away, leaving her with a sad and lonely heart. But there is no one to turn to for comfort. Amanda's father is often away on business trips. Her teenaged sister Jane treats her with cruel indifference. And school is no better, where she is constantly teased and tormented by bullies.
