Sunshine Coast, Queensland, poet, journalist and editor, Wendy O'Hanlon, takes children on a lyrical journey into the morning frolics of a particular fly - a fly with character and attitude.

A fly that catches the attention of two children on their way to school, a fly that passes by, avoids the fly swat, and leads the children to ponder about that particular fly and the life it leads.

The Fly includes some very fascinating fly facts at the end of the story. This colourful and entertaining book has been created from a poem written by Wendy O'Hanlon in 1986 and is the first in an annual colour children's book series. The second book, The Country Possum and the City Possum will be published in 2023.
