The Family Secret: Distorted Images and The Long Way to Truth

Vermont 1947--a French-American familyWhen six-year-old Michelle's mother hears that her husband had a "nice surprise" for the child, she sends the girl away to a boarding school in Canada "But why?" the child asks. She does not get a true answer. While in the boarding school, she meets a boy and a recently-released American prisoner who eventually have an astounding effect on Michelle's life.
