The Cultural Politics of the Paralympic Movement

Examines the development of the Paralympics and asks whether it is justified in describing the Games as empowerment of the disabled community. Using ethnographic research, this book discusses the economic, social, and political processes shaping the movement and develops a theory of the relationship between sport, and culture of disability.
