The Cheetahs

Aklilu had raised the cheetahs since they were cubs. Together they had hunted the flat, fiery African plains, battling everything in their path-from savage bands of baboons to roaring floods, from warlike Somalis to hot, steaming jungles.

Now they faced their deadliest foe of all time-the crafty Indian trader. He had duped Aklilu into trading his prized cheetahs for a bulky and worthless pocket watch, and now Aklilu had to abide by the trade.

What could Aklilu do? Sacrifice his honor, or the sleek, young cheetahs that he held so dear?
