This book is about my approach to jazz piano playing based on one of the primary styles of the 40s and 50s. I studied with Sam Saxe, originally from New York. When I studied with him in the mid-fifties, he was one of the top jazz piano teachers in Hollywood at that time. My book is broken down into a series of tips - "55 tips from an old pro" - of these 55 tips, 32 relate to playing and rest relate to the general lifestyle of the jazz pianist.
