The Big Bad Bully and 1 Brave Little Bee

Have you ever been bullied? How did you handle it? Does our behavior as adults contribute to bullying in our children? Regardless of how it happens, everyone has responsibility to try and stop bullying from taking place. If you see an act of bullying, report it. Oftentimes when the person being bullied decides to fight back, someone is seriously injured or dies. It may be the bully, the person being bullied, or as we have seen recently innocent bystanders. As you read this story see if you recognize any of your own behavior in the characters. Bullying can occur in many different settings and relationships. I doubt that there is any situation that some type of bullying has not occurred. Bullying is always wrong. It is never okay to be a bully no matter who does it. Just ask yourself, would you want someone to treat you this way? If you treat others badly someone may treat you the same or worse. Most of all if you see bullying occurring, report it. It may save a life, maybe your own. Even small incidents can escalate and get out of control quickly if no action is taken.
