Tales of Hulan River is the first full-length novel of talent woman in the Republic of China created in Hong Kong, and is also pinnacle of work of her.Taking hometown and childhood of author as the archetype, hometown Hulan- monotony and beauty of one town in the northeast and kindness and ignorance of people in the 1920s and 1930s in the memory of author was described in the fiction.Seven chapters in the whole book:Custom of the little town is described in the Chapter I and Chapter II, and close and distant figures in the family is discussed in Chapter III and Chapter IV. Independent supporting figures are described in the Chapter V, Chapter VI and Chapter VII.Seven chapters can be independent from each other and present an integral whole.
